Empowering and Educating the Communities Through the Maputo Protocol – Symposium

The symposium organised by South African members of the Solidarity for African Women’s Rights (SOAWR) in collaboration with the Malusi Youth Development Organisation (MYDO) marked a significant step in empowering and educating the Malusi communities through the Maputo Protocol (MP). This event, celebrating 20 years of SOAWR’s dedication to women’s rights, was designed to provide community members and community-based organisations (CBOs) with practical tools and knowledge to implement the provisions of the MP in their local contexts. The symposium was held on 11 September 2024, in Malusi, in the West of Pretoria, South Africa.
